Take a closer look at this Los Angeles neighborhood. Hancock Park holds many of the city’s beautiful homes.
Located in the eastern portion of the original Rancho La Brea area, this neighborhood was developed in the 1920’s by the Hancock family. The family was able to develop the area from profits they had earned from former oil drilling area, Rancho La Brea. Located north of Hollywood and north of Fairfax, this area has some of the most unique homes in Los Angeles. Each block in this neighborhood has homes that are proportioned to the size of the lot with deep landscaped setbacks. To help with the preservation of the historical character in the neighborhood, Hancock Park was designated as a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone in 2007.
House prices in HPOZs tend to rise faster due to the neighborhoods being maintained, attracting investments. Hancock Park has housed entertainers such as Nat King Cole and Mae West, millionaire Howard Hughes, and architect William Pereira. If you are looking for a home, enjoy unique architecture, and want to be apart of an amazing community, you do not want to miss out on an opportunity to be apart of this neighborhood.
