Hancock Park is an historic neighborhood in Los Angeles that is bordered by Hollywood to the north, Windsor Square to the east, and Fairfax to the west. Built around a private golf club, Hancock Park boasts a low-density population consisting of mostly affluent, older-aged homeowners. Adding to Hancock Park’s already ample appeal are the four private schools and two public schools within its small boundaries.
West Hollywood is a city within Los Angeles County bordered by Beverly Hills on the west and the Hollywood Hills on the north. Beverly Grove is a small neighborhood in Los Angeles that is bordered by West Hollywood and Beverly Hills. This upscale neighborhood is known for its fashion district and has a highly educated population. Beverly Grove is home to many famous hotels and shopping centers including the Sofitel Hotel, the SLS Hotel, and the Beverly Center.
Larchmont Village is a heavily populated neighborhood in Los Angeles that is bordered by Hancock Park to the west and Windsor Square to the south. With a population of around 9,000 residents, this small community is serviced by 4 schools, two private and two public. Larchmont is known for its very well-maintained historic homes and old-town shopping streets, which has made Larchmont a prime location for filming for many years.
Carthay Circle is a neighborhood in the city of Los Angeles which is east of Pico-Robertson and south of Beverly Grove. The half-square-mile neighborhood has a highly educated and fairly affluent population, with a high rate of households making over $125,000. Carthay Circle contains many historic homes and much of the area falls under a Historic Preservation Overlay Zone, ensuring that the neighborhood maintains its lovely character for many years to come.
Picfair Village is an up-and-coming neighborhood in Los Angeles with the boundaries of Pico Blvd to the north, Hauser Blvd to the east, Venice Blvd to the south, and Fairfax Ave to the west. This neighborhood is made up of single-family homes and small residential apartments, mostly done in Mid-Century architecture. This area takes its name from the famous Picfair movie theater which once stood on the corner of Pico and Fairfax.
Bel Air is an upscale neighborhood founded in 1923 within Los Angeles County just north of Sunset Boulevard and UCLA. It extends as far north as Mulholland Drive and has been the setting for various film and television productions. Bel Air is generally subdivided into three distinct neighborhoods: East Gate Old Bel Air, West Gate Bel Air, and Upper Bel Air. At the heart of the community sits the Bel-Air Country Club and the Hotel Bel-Air.
Westwood is a commercial and residential neighborhood in the northern central portion of the Westside region of Los Angeles. The 2000 census found that the forty-seven thousand people living in the neighborhood were generally young and moderately diverse ethnically, with a generally high level of income and education. The neighborhood was developed after 1919, with a new campus of the University of California being built and opened in 1926. Other attractions include Westwood Village, with its historic motion picture theaters, and the Hammer Museum.
Century City is a neighborhood in Los Angeles with over 5,500 residents, bordered on the northeast and east by Beverly Hills, on the southeast and south by Cheviot Hills, on the southwest and west by West Los Angeles and on the northwest by Westwood. Century City covers 176 acres and was developed on the former backlot of film studio 20th Century Fox, and its first building was opened in 1963. There are two private schools, but no public schools in the neighborhood. Important to the economy are a shopping center, business towers and Fox Studios.
